Twilight Memes
Although the Twilight series was a commercial success, it was heavily criticized for its underdeveloped characters, shoddy plotlines, excessive melodrama, and glamorization of problematic relationships. It also became an unintentional comedy for many, as well as the subject of countless parodies in the years to come. After so many years since the films were released, let’s dive into Twilight nostalgia and look at the top ten Twilight memes. The saga is based on Stephanie Meyer’s popular book series about a teenage girl named Bella Swan who moves to the small town of Forks with her father. There she meets Edward Cullen, a mysterious, handsome and not to mention extremely creepy boy to the point where he used to lurk in her room and watch her sleep, calling it “fascinating.” She soon discovers that Edward is a vampire, and despite Edward’s evident red flags, Bella still wants to date him. Whether you’re team Jacob or team Edward or not a Twilight fan at all, I’m sure you’ve seen your fair share of Twilight memes circle the internet every once in a while, with most of them poking fun at the nonsensical nature of the movie series. The Twilight Saga was a cultural phenomenon and remains one of the most epic franchises of all time. The series, which featured sparkling vampires, was at its peak during the late 2000s and the early 2010s, and most people either loved or absolutely hated the idea of a fantasy vampire romance.
Get you a man that looks at you like Edward looks at Bella
Edward’s staring at Bella as if she had just risen from a pile of garbage. Now we feel really bad for Bella.
The Twilight Remake
The Twilight remake, but this time Kristen Stewart plays both Bella and Edward. But this time minus the previous atrocities the films showcased.
The skin of a killer
Nobody: Bella: He is definitely a red flag but red is my favorite color. One of the funniest things about Twilight has to be their overdramatized lines, especially when Edward goes to explain to Bella about his vampiric nature.
CGI Renesmee gives us the creeps
If you thought twilight’s plotline was terrible, wait till you see how miserably they failed in the CGI department as well. Even Anabelle won’t be able to compete with Bella and Edward’s creepy CGI baby.
Edward’s a Creep
The scene of Edward sneaking into Bella’s room to watch her sleep has to be one of the creepiest scenes in a film that features vampires and werewolves. It’s far from romantic, and any sane girl in Bella’s position would have run for the hills.
Interview With a Sparkling Vampire?
I think we can all agree that making vampires sparkle whenever they are exposed to sunlight was one of the dumbest things about the series. Perhaps vampires in the Twilight universe are simply too good to be burned by the sun, so sparkling is their punishment instead.
Potterverse x Twilight
If you haven’t been living under a rock, you are probably aware that Robert Pattinson had a brief role in the Harry Potter franchise as Cedric Diggory. Thus, this one hits home for both Potterheads and Twihards.
Vengeance Has Returned!
Now that Robert Pattinson’s most anticipated Batman film has been officially released, it’s time to drag your wives to the theaters, just like they did to you for Twilight.
Twilight: The Office Cut
The Office joined the vampire bandwagon as well and had a dedicated episode of Jim pulling a vampire prank on Dwight.
Justice for Jasper
Jasper had the most intriguing backstory out of all the characters — something they failed to explore further. He lived during the Civil War, fighting for the Confederacy, and as a vampire, he had the ability to manipulate emotions for better or worse. It’s a shame that his character didn’t get enough screen time.
